چکیده

The performance of multiuser adaptive minimum mean square error (MMSE) receiver combined with multiple antennas is investigated for wideband code division multiple access systems (W-CDMA) in multipath fading channels. In the adaptive implementation of the receiver, performance of various algorithms like least mean square (LMS), normalized least mean square (NLMS), recursive least square (RLS) and the newly proposed affine projection adaptive (APA) filtering algorithm is considered. With the use of spatial diversity (by having multiple antennas at the receiver) significant improvement can be achieved in the output signal–tointerference-and-noise ratio (SINR). The effect of fading correlation between antenna elements (which is a function of antenna spacing, angle of arrival, angle spread, and carrier frequency) on the performance is evaluated using simulation.

Bit Error Performance for Asynchronous Ds Cdma Systems Over Multipath Rayleigh Fading Channels (RESEARCH NOTE)

In recent years, there has been considerable interest in the use of CDMA in mobile communications. Bit error rate is one of the most important parameters in the evaluation of CDMA systems. In this paper, we develop a technique to find an accurate approximation to the probability of bit error for asynchronous direct–sequence code division multiple–access (DS/CDMA) systems by modeling the multipl...

Smart Antennas for Multiuser DS/CDMA Communications in Multipath Fading Channels - Spread Spectrum Techniques and Applications, 2004 IEEE Eighth International Symposium on

Smart antennas, with spatial processing, used in code division multiple access (CDMA) multiuser communications can enhance range, reliability and capacity. Moreover, the adaptive beamforming technologies can remove unwanted noise and jamming from the received signal. In this paper, we use least mean square algorithm and propose four adaptive antenna receiver structures for directsequence (DS) C...

MMSE multiuser detection in multipath fading channels

In this work, we propose an MMSE multiuser detector for asynchronous DS/CDMA systems operating over frequency-selective fading channels. It is shown that computation of a conditional MMSE estimate of the bit to be decoded may be carried out with a computational burden linear in the processing gain N . We also give a closed-form formula for the Error Probability and the Nearfar Resistance of the...
